ABOUT ME

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Johnny, and I'm a tattoo artist who has been tattooing for 9 years now. I grew up as a military brat, constantly moving — mostly through Texas cities — so I can proudly say I'm a Texas native.Art was always on my mind growing up, starting from drawing cereal box characters to taking advanced art classes by middle school. Throughout high school, I spent time at a local tattoo shop, watching as my dad got work done on him week in and week out. It sparked a new interest — I became curious, asking my dad a million questions about tattooing throughout his sleeve transformation.After high school, I moved to El Paso and enrolled in college. At the time, I was new to the area and knew few people, so I’d spend weekends at the tattoo shop up my street, eventually starting my own collection of tattoos. During that time, I started to learn about the industry and realized I wanted to pursue becoming a tattoo artist.After about 10 months of sharpening my art portfolio, I got a shot at Pricks Tattoo — and pretty much, the rest is history.
